Halifax Humane Society Island Party
By Stephanie Di Traglia
As the sun sets over Ormond Beach on a Saturday evening, the crowd gathered has come together for more than the admiration of a gorgeous Florida summer night. In fact, the true focus of this Island Party was one that many of us pet parents, adopters and animal lovers can relate to- saving homeless pets! The Halifax Humane Society’s 6th Annual Island Party benefits the over 25,000 animals in Volusia County the shelter serves each year. Hawaiian Shirts, leis and smiles filled the scene. Spirits were nearly as high as the auction bids for this valuable cause, and we here at The Pet Loss Centered were honored to sponsor such a worthy event. Founded in 1937 and one of the largest shelters in the state of Florida, the Halifax Humane Society protects the animals in the Greater Daytona Beach area, provides low-cost spay and neuter services, and promotes humane education.
At The Pet Loss Center, our vision is that all animals receive dignity and respect in life and in death. Part of our commitment to honoring the life of our most beloved babies is in our dedication to philanthropic efforts across all the communities we serve. Recently in Austin, it was our great privilege to sponsor Austin Pets Alive! to support in honoring the lives of shelter pets. We are proud to partner with and support a multitude of agencies and rescue organizations throughout Florida and Texas.
We celebrate all chapters of life we share with our precious pets and we are so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of various events. From Pet Walks to Adopt-a-thons if there is a pet cause to support, you will likely find our Pet Loss Center family participating in the fun- and we encourage you to join our team in honor of your special one!
