Nicholas Padlo (Nick) is an Army Veteran, proven DFW business leader, and a committed pet parent. Currently, he is the CEO of The Pet Loss Center. Prior to this role Nick was the Founder of Graycourt Capital, a firm dedicated to enter the pet care market, which he did successfully through the purchase of The Pet Loss Center’s enterprises.
Prior to Graycourt, Nick worked as a Case Team Leader for Bain & Company in Dallas. He consulted across several industries including Consumer Packaged Goods, Utilities, Oil & Gas, and Higher Education. Before Bain, he served for five years as a Military Intelligence Officer in the U.S Army. In this role, Nick spent 27 months in combat operations across Northern Iraq and Eastern Afghanistan, where he received the Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Action Badge.
After his military service, Nick completed his MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2010. He previously earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he served as Chairman of the Cadet Honor Committee and graduated with the Academy’s highest honors.
Nick is fully committed to building The Pet Loss Center into the preeminent pet loss provider in the country by focusing on providing the highest level of service in the industry, both for veterinary partners and pet parents.
A chance encounter with a pet parent facing the death of her pet was a defining moment for Coleen in 1998. It was the beginning of her vision of how to best meet the needs of pet parents in their desire to mourn, memorialize and pay tribute to their beloved pets when they die. In 2004, the experience of the death of her dog, Mico, guided her in starting the nation’s first stand-alone pet’s-only funeral home. Soon, publications such as Kates-Boylston’s Pet Loss Insider deemed her the “most well known pet funeral director” and a true “pet loss pioneer.”
In 2009, Coleen founded Two Hearts Pet Loss Center, to guide people who wish to provide meaningful pet death care services in their communities, as well to be an educational resource in the pet grief discipline. In 2009, she received the first Death and Grief Studies Certification specializing in Pet Loss Companioning by Dr. Alan Wolfelt as well as releasing her first book, Pet Parents: A Journey Through Unconditional Love and Grief. She is also Certified in Thanatology and is a Certified Pet Loss Professional.
By 2014, Coleen was ready to take her vision to a new level. Joining Nick Padlo as managing partner and Chief Marketing Officer, they formed an acquisition company whose mission is to standardize and raise the service levels of the pet loss industry. The Pet Loss Center strives to be the nation’s premier pet loss service, elevating the experiential component of pet loss and grief care across the country.
Coleen is a sought-after speaker on the topics of pet loss and grief. Through her delivery style, pet care professionals learn a variety of techniques immediately applicable to implement on how to companion families in their grief journey. Furthermore, her talks to pet parents give them the permission they need to not only grieve but mourn the loss of their beloved pet.
Coleen is currently the co-chair and founder of the Pet Loss Professionals Alliance and past president of the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. She is a native of Kansas where she graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.
Yemisi Adetunji joins The Pet Loss Center leadership team with 22 years of experience in finance and accounting with a broad span of working with small and large organizations. Important to the healthy financial outlook of The Pet Loss Center enterprise, Yemisi brings an incredible talent to the team in the analytical arena and consistently has her eye on the financial health of the organization, having more than just P&L responsibilities but also looking for important trends that will affect the company. Her past Industry experience includes healthcare, clinical research, non-profit, human resource services and private accounting, with financial oversight in these organizations in both the operational and management levels.
Yemisi is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Houston with an accounting degree and achieved her MBA from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. On a personal note, Yemisi is married with two beautiful school-age children. In her limited free time, she does enjoy spending time with her family, cooking, roller-blading and hiking. An interesting tid-bit about her… she’s been in the 3 largest oceans in the world: the Pacific, the Atlantic, and the Indian oceans!
Adrienne Sturgis is the executive assistant for the leadership team of The Pet Loss Center. She joins the team with several years of business experience, and is an invaluable asset in making sure that the needs of the internal team are seamlessly handled. She is the smile that lights up the leadership team’s home office and is priceless in her “can-do” attitude of making sure that all leaderships tasks are effortless handled. Not a detail is missed as the is the pivot point for the various activities of the organization, constantly keeping her eyes and ears open to create more efficiencies within the working office.
Adrienne has 2 boys who keep her busy during her free time with their school activities. She is a volunteer for Mission Arlington, Rescue Her and Mars Swim of Arlington. To add to her incredibly active life, she also enjoys swimming, volleyball, yoga, lifting weights, running, camping, hiking and kayaking.
JT is one of the most highly touted operators in the Pet Loss industry. He comes to us from Phoenix, where he served progressively at every level within two pet loss organizations, including Customer Care Driver, Crematory Operator, Driver Supervisor, Sales & Marketing Manager, Operations Manager, and finished as Regional Director. In addition to his experience, JT also brings the highest credentials as a Certified Pet Loss Professional as well as a Certified Crematory Operator, which he maintains current through a commitment to continuing education classes and ongoing training.
JT is committed to training each of our locations to operate in The Pet Loss Center way, providing the Nation’s best care to the pet parents and veterinarians. Through his membership with the Pet Loss Professionals Alliance, he follows the highest of standards in death care and has already spent copious time developing and teaching industry-leading Pet Loss practices with our teams at The Pet Loss Center. We have already seen a notable and significant impact on many areas of the business across all three regions. His love for animals and passion for helping people has kept him striving to make a difference. He looks forward to innovating to the highest levels, designing the Nation’s best processes, and training our teams to elevate the standard for Pet Loss.
The Pet Loss Center’s National Sales Manager, Christopher Lykins, is a native of Dallas and Austin, currently residing in Round Rock. While long motorcycle rides will light up his heart, his eyes shine when he talks about his family. He’s been married to his high-school sweetheart, Rachel, for twenty-one years and together they have six children: one daughter Michelle and five sons, Christopher Jr., Micheal, Cody, Laine and Matthew. Rounding out his very active household are the four-legged kids, four dogs Roxy, Abby, Cheyenne and Neo and two cats Saphira and Rogue.
Chris comes to The Pet Loss Center with experience in the pet care professional industry. He’s excited to build on this knowledge that he’s gained over the years. When asked what he loves about this career, he said “The ability to show families and their loved ones the respect they deserve. To actually help through the process of grieving and not having to have it end when they leave the building.”

The Creative & Social Media Director for the team is a long-time family member of the original Pet Heaven organization. Literally growing up in the business as her parents, Candy and Sergio , were the former owners of the operation, the pet cemetery and crematory business are just a part of Nicole Olivera. “I enjoy the work that I do for the company because it helps keep me creative and keeps my mind running constantly. I love interacting with people at the pet events that we have throughout the year. I enjoy getting to know people who have used our services and am honored to hear their stories and experiences with us. Every time I hear a story, I realize more and more about how much my mother and father made a difference in their lives and it makes me extremely proud of them and the company as a whole.” In her spare time, Nicole loves dabbling in photography, museum hopping and competing in Strongman competitions. She shares her world with her husband, two sons, a ten year-old terrier mix, and a feisty Calico kitty.
Bob serves as the COO for the Pet Loss Center. As an experienced leader of companies ranging from small privately held companies to a division of a Fortune 500 company with responsibility for multiple international locations, Bob understands and loves the challenges of developing teams and growing businesses. He holds a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Missouri and an MBA from Washington University. Bob and his wife, Lisa moved to Dallas from Grand Rapids, Michigan 3 years ago. They have lived in Colorado Springs, Co; Barrington, Illinois; Joplin, Missouri; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and now reside in Dallas. They have a son, Ben, who lives in Dallas, and a daughter, Emma, who recently relocated to San Francisco. With the recent addition of a new miniature Goldendoodle named Ellie, they have special memories of Precious, a Border Collie, and her sister, Annabel, a miniature Schnauzer.
He is trained as an engineer but mostly loves working with people and has had the chance to do business around the world. He has traveled extensively and managed businesses in UK, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Mexico, and Canada. He has found it fascinating to get to know people from all the various cultures. His hobbies include grilling, working out, family time, serving in the Stephens Ministry, coaching, and travel (anywhere with water, mountains, or friends).
Bob enjoys working with The Pet Loss Center as it is a company with a heart and people who have a common bond of caring about pets and each other. He finds it a special opportunity to be a part of a fast growing, start up company where decisions get made quickly.
