The Pet Loss Center is honored to be a member of the Austin and San Antonio communities. Even though we are a new neighbor to you, The Pet Loss Center has been serving pet parent families and veterinarians in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for years, so we are not new to Texas or the pet loss profession.
Much like other markets that The Pet Loss Center services, we have found that pet parents and veterinarians throughout this city are looking to partner with a pet loss organization providing the utmost in care and full service support. An operation like The Pet Loss Center brings a robust offering to fulfill both our pet parent’s needs and wants; we are consistently present and available to professional requests from the veterinary clinics and animal hospitals.
The Pet Loss Center of Austin/San Antonio is here to do just that. The team at The Pet Loss Center are pet parents who understand the relationship with a pet. And, they are professionals, who understand what it means to partner with veterinarians and to provide seamless caring service when the death of a client occurs. This is our promise.
At The Pet Loss Center, our vision is that all animals receive dignity and respect in life and death. We support our local pet adoption efforts and any other cause helping these creatures receive the care and respect they deserve. Internally, we honor every pet that enters into our facility and care for them if they were our own.
Our mission at The Pet Loss Center is to provide world-class end-of-life services for pets and those who care for them.
After all, that is what they, and you, deserve.
We are here to help you help them in honoring their journey.

John has been a Crematory Supervisor at The Pet Loss Center for almost two years! Originally from San Antonio, John shares his life with his wife, son, and daughter. Much like the rest of our team, John is an animal lover and has quite a few pet companions at home including a German Shephard named Charlie, and a handful of cats. His hobbies include gardening, fishing, and practicing his grilling skills. When he’s not at the Austin center, John likes to catch up on world news, investments, and politics.
Born and raised in the great state of Texas, Michael Lykins is both a Field Care Specialist and Crematory Operator at our Austin facility. The Pet Loss Center has been lucky enough to have him on our team for two years this July and we couldn’t be more grateful! Mike shares his life with two feisty pugs, Angus and Emmie, and five siblings. Yes, FIVE! On his down time, Mike loves playing and coaching Lacrosse. He also enjoys working out and hanging out with his friends.
Emily is one of the newest additions to our team and is the very first voice to greet you when you phone our Austin location. Originally from Springfield, Missouri, she shares her life with her husband and two fur-babies Harold and Wiley. When she’s not helping families honor their loved one’s journey, you can find her painting, refinishing furniture, or fishing. When asked why she enjoys being a part of The Pet Loss Center she replies, “I love working here because of the pet parents. The people I meet on a daily basis are going through such a hard time. Being the person who can support and comfort these families in their time of grief is extremely rewarding.”
