Heartthrobs and Hound Dogs Calendar Brings Veterans and Adorable Rescue Dogs Together To Help Raise Money for Texas Rescues
Dallas, Austin, and Houston, Texas, June, 2015: Heartthrobs and Hound Dogs began because so often there is a misconception that rescue or shelter dogs are “broken”, that something is “wrong” with them, or that they can’t possibly be good enough to bring into your home, but that is so far from the truth. Because of this stereotype, I decided to start a project that would benefit not only the rescues involved, but also raise awareness that rescue dogs are just as attractive as designer breed dogs. Heartthrobs and Hound Dogs pairs adoptable dogs with “heartthrob” veterans to help bring rescue dogs to the attention of people everywhere. These rescue dogs deserve to be seen for their full potential and not be overlooked just because they didn’t come from a breeder. Military veterans deserve to be in the lime light and recognized for their service to our great country as well. Featuring military veterans and rescue dogs is a great way to bring recognition to both the beauty of dog rescue and the admiration of service for our veterans. There are 12 military veterans involved, along with 6 dog rescues, 2 from Austin, 2 from Dallas, and 2 from Houston. 100% of the proceeds from the calendar sales are divided evenly among the 6 rescues to fund special health cases, spay/neutering programs, and vaccinations, so rescues can continue to save the lives of dogs all over the state of Texas.
Each rescue will have a launch party at a local establishment to celebrate the release of the calendar. There will be more information to come on the launch parties. It would be great to have a news story to promote the story of the calendars in order to increase sales. Thank you.
