K9 Fife

“It is with sadness that we announce that retired DPD K9 Fife passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 surrounded by his family. K9 Fife was a 10-year-old male German Shepard who joined the Durham Police Department in May 2010 and was assigned to Officer J.J. McDonough. Officer J.J. McDonough and K9 Fife were assigned to the Special Operations Division and Uniform Patrol during Fife’s years of service. During that time K9 Fife was instrumental in the seizure of over 331 pounds of marijuana, multiple kilos of cocaine, over 60 grams of heroin, several weapons and over $640,500 in US currency. On May 2, 2017 K9 Fife retired from service and went to live at home with Officer J.J. McDonough. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist with vet fees and burial cost.”
